Implementation
Implementation means that after you have carefully organized all the tools and materials that you need to design and construct the project, it is now time to implement your plan.
Getting Started
The gray material is the back of one half of a cereal box also known as boxboard.
I am not going to show you with photos how to precisely glue the 1cm graph paper to the back of a cereal box.
You will learn more about technology construction and using tools by trying and experimenting with materials.
If something does not work the first time do not get discouraged. Keep trying!
You can see by the above photo that the cereal box must be bigger than the sheet of graph paper. That means that you will need a medium to large cereal box.
To open the cereal box, cut the cereal box's edges. This will give you a good idea about the quality of the scissors you are using.
If your scissors cut the box easily, you will be able to complete the project.
If you are having a difficult time cutting, look for a better pair of scissors.
This is very important because when you glue the graph paper to the boxboard, it becomes slightly more difficult to cut the square decimeters precisely.
In technology, learning how to cut precisely is very important!
Doing a good job gluing the graph paper to the boxboard is difficult. It requires time and patience.
Start with applying the glue stick to the back of the graph paper and not on the side with the intersecting lines. Do not apply the glue to the boxboard.
A good technique is to start from the center and work to the outside. You need to cover all the paper with glue evenly.
Once you have completed this task, immediately place the paper carefully on the boxboard. Be careful not to crease the paper.
A good tip is to cover the graph paper with a flat sheet of newspaper and roll it with a downward force.
The excess glue that will come out of the edges of the paper will be absorbed by the newspaper and not your roller.
Remove the newspaper immediately. This technique will allow you to keep a clean roller for future work.
Keeping tools clean and in good shape is a key to being a good technologist.
