Cutting the dm²
Start by joining the 12cm X 12cm points. Using a good pair of scissors cut the square. Don't worry if you make a mistake. These are lines that surround the final 10cm X 10cm square.
A pair of scissors is a compound machine. A compound machine is made from two or more simple machines.
The scissor handles are levers. A lever is a simple machine.
The scissor blades are a pair of wedges in a cross shape. A wedge is a simple machine.
The blades pivot around a fulcrum. A fulcrum is a pivot point.
The fulcrum pivot area on a pair of scissors is usually a small screw. A screw is a simple machine.
After you have cut the outside perimeter of the six squares, you are now prepared to cut the 10cm X 10cm squares to an exact size. Take your time to do a good job. Practice and learn how to use a pair of scissors properly.
Note the simple design I placed on each one of my squares. You should use your imagination and consider what design you wish to have on your surfaces.
