TT
Hi! I’m Double T, a big Transport Truck.
I’m built to move heavy things across the country. I have a special part on my back called a fifth wheel. It’s not a regular tire—it’s a flat, round-shaped plate with a slot that acts like a giant hitch. When I
need to pull a trailer, it has a heavy metal pin (called a kingpin) that slides right into the middle of my fifth wheel and locks into place. This special connection lets the
trailer pivot so I can make smooth turns.
Flatbed Trailer
This is my flatbed trailer. It doesn’t have walls or a roof, which makes it perfect for carrying huge construction machines and other giant loads that wouldn’t fit inside a regular truck. Since it's open, I have to be extra careful to strap everything down tight so nothing falls off while I’m driving!
Toys
Today, I am moving a giant cargo box. This box just finished a long trip across the ocean on a huge ship. The ship is now docked at a seaport, which is a special city or town with a harbor where big ocean-going ships can park to load and unload their things.
Since the cargo box is way too heavy for people to lift, a massive machine called a gantry crane reached over the ship with its long arm (the boom). It used a special frame called a spreader to grab the box by its four corners and lift it high into the air.
Then, the crane operator carefully lowered the box right onto my trailer! Once the box was on my trailer, it was locked down tight with twist locks so it won't budge while I drive to my destination and leave the cargo box at a store. The workers will unload the toys and sell them.

Today, I’m hauling fresh milk! I’m driving from a dairy farm to a dairy plant. To keep the milk from spoiling, I have a special tank trailer on my back. It’s made of shiny stainless steel and works like a giant, rolling thermos to keep the milk ice-cold and super clean.
Once I arrive at the plant, the milk is pumped out to be pasteurized, which is a special way of heating it up and cooling it down to make it safe to drink. After that, I’ll swap my tank for a refrigerated trailer (some truckers call these "reefers").
These trailers are like giant walk-in fridges that keep the milk cartons cold while I deliver them to the grocery store.

I am going to have so much fun today! I’m transporting my friend Wedge to the race track.
Wedge is a super-fast race car, and he's going to zip around the track as fast as he can! Since Wedge is so low to the ground and built only for racing, he needs a lift from me to get there safely.
Once the race is over and the checkered flag waves, I’ll load Wedge back onto my trailer and give him a ride all the way home.
